Role Purpose<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Structural Civil Engineer serves as the technical reference for everything related to the design, analysis, and structural validation of our client\u2019s products.
The engineer collaborates closely with mechanical, electrical, project management, production, and after-sales teams to ensure the safety<\/strong>, reliability<\/strong>, and compliance<\/strong> of manufactured and installed equipment.<\/p>\n

Main Mission<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Participate in the design, validation, and implementation of structural solutions applied to temporary or permanent products.
The engineer ensures the strength<\/strong>, compliance<\/strong>, and optimization<\/strong> of structural components, while supporting internal teams when facing technical challenges in design or in the field.<\/p>\n

\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h1>\n

1. Structural Analysis & Design<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 Perform structural analysis and calculations (linear or finite element) to validate strength and stability
\u2022 Design and approve structural components and welded assemblies in accordance with applicable codes (CSA, AISC, etc.)
\u2022 Ensure compliance with normative, regulatory, and contractual requirements
\u2022 Produce and validate calculations, drawings, design notes, technical documents, and engineering reports<\/p>\n

2. Project & Installation Support<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 Support project managers and site teams during installations
\u2022 Calculate and validate anchor loads, ground loads, and building connection points
\u2022 Propose structural solutions during site challenges or client adaptation requests
\u2022 Review and approve structural installation documents and specifications<\/p>\n

3. Continuous Improvement & Product Development<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 Participate in new product design and optimize existing structures
\u2022 Contribute to cost reduction through design rationalization and improved manufacturing processes
\u2022 Conduct technological watch and integrate new materials or calculation methods
\u2022 Maintain up-to-date design files, testing reports, validations, and approvals<\/p>\n

4. Collaboration & Communication<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 Ensure effective communication between engineering, production, and field teams
\u2022 Provide internal and external technical support on structural matters
\u2022 Participate in project meetings and multidisciplinary technical reviews<\/p>\n

Education & Certifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering (structural specialization)
\u2022 Member of a provincial engineering association (e.g., OIQ) with professional seal (or eligible)<\/p>\n

Experience & Technical Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis
\u2022 Strong knowledge of CSA standards and welding calculation codes
\u2022 Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, Robot, SAP2000, or equivalent)
\u2022 Proficiency with AutoCAD and\/or Revit<\/p>\n

Professional Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2022 Strong communication and teamwork abilities
\u2022 Rigorous, autonomous, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
\u2022 Bilingual (French\/English)
\u2022 Availability for occasional site visits<\/p>\n

\u2022 Knowledge of ASME A17.1 B44 and B311 standards
\u2022 Experience in a manufacturing environment<\/p>\n
