Following strong growth, our client, a major real estate developer and general contractor renowned for its multi-unit residential construction projects, is looking for a SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER to work primarily on the construction of multi-residential projects in the Greater Montreal area;

Permanent position offering a salary between $85,000 & $135,000 + minimum 4 weeks vacation + bonus

Established for over 20 years, with more than 150 million multi-residential projects built in Montreal.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, monitor and control construction budgets;
- Prepare specifications and calls for tender;
- Analyze and negotiate subcontractors and suppliers;
- Prepare and negotiate letters of intent and contracts;
- Lead kick-off meetings, coordination with subcontractors and site meetings;
- Participate in and/or manage detailed design with consultants to prepare quality plans that respect set scopes of work, budgets and applicable regulations;
- Work with consultants to resolve construction issues;
- Review, comment on and approve shop drawings of all kinds;
- Hand sketch construction details;
- Creative approach to problem solving;
- Site support for subcontractor coordination and planning, problem solving, etc;
- Ensure transfer of information to site for proper coordination and understanding of design intent;
- Follow-up customer modifications with site and subcontractors;
- Manage leasehold improvements for commercial customers, if required;
- Approval and coding of invoices and preparation of monthly statements
- Manage and follow up on customer customizations and color choices;
- Produce monthly reports on budget monitoring and project profitability
- Ensure electronic filing of ongoing project documents;
- Monitor and control drawings, shop drawings, directives, plans, site instructions, deficiencies, etc;
- Responsible for implementing and enforcing company health and safety policies;
- Preparation, follow-up and control of schedules;
- Ensure the completion of deficiencies and responsible for after-sales service;
- Other various related tasks linked to the project management department.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Approximately 7 to 10 years’ experience in a construction project management role(s) (multi-residential).
- Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture or equivalent (Asset) or relevant experience
- Experience in multi-residential development (Asset)
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit, Autodesk Build, Procore, MS Project and estimating software
- Good spoken English and excellent French
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Project management certificate (Asset)
- Excellent knowledge of the Quebec Construction Code, laws, standards and other regulations applicable to the multi-residential construction industry in Quebec;
- Technical respondent with the RBQ for a general contractor’s license (Asset)
