POSITION OVERVIEW:
Following recent acquisitions, our client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their organization. This role requires 100% on-site presence and offers a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial management :
Supervise and coordinate the financial operations of the Group’s various companies.
Develop, implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets and optimize financial processes.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial reports for the Group.
Analyze financial performance and propose recommendations to improve profitability.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts for each entity.
Monitor budgets against actual results and explain variances.
Collaborate with managers in each area to develop effective budget strategies.
Treasury Management:
Oversee cash management and cash flows to ensure the Group’s liquidity.
Manage banking relationships, including lines of credit and financing.
Optimize capital structure to minimize financial costs.
Compliance :
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and tax regulations applicable in Quebec.
Ensure compliance with tax returns and regulatory obligations.
Collaborate with external accounting firm.
Leadership and Team Management:
Supervise and coach the accounting team, ensuring their ongoing training and professional development.
Promote a culture of rigor, integrity and excellence within the finance team.
Collaborate with other departments to align financial objectives with corporate strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Professional designation CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) Asset, but not required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in the manufacturing/production sector
Excellent command of IFRS standards and Quebec tax regulations.
Advanced skills in financial analysis, budgeting and cash management.
Experience in personnel management and team leadership
Proficiency in financial management software / ERP (Sage, Zoho, etc)
Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
