Are you a legal assistant looking for a new challenge on Montreal’s South Shore?
Due to strong growth, our client, a notary firm established for over 30 years in the Old Montreal area, is looking for its next legal assistant.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow-up on client files
Manage the office’s main agenda
Assist the notary in her work and in customer service.
Draft legal and corporate documents (deeds of sale, loan deeds, etc.)
Proofread all documents, letters & communications to be transmitted to ensure they are compliant & error-free
Answer telephone calls, take messages and provide information on file status.
Other administrative tasks
QUALITIES, APTITUDES AND SKILLS REQUIRED
A quick thinker who asks questions & is interested in real estate
Well-organized person who is comfortable performing several tasks at the same time.
Autonomous, reliable, proactive & rigorous;
Experience in a notary’s or lawyer’s office (Asset);
Excellent level (spoken & written) of French and English (intermediate is good);
Minimum experience required :
DEP or DEC in legal secretarial work, paralegal technique or equivalent diploma/experience combination.
Knowledge of the following tools : Registre foncier du Québec, RDPRM, REQ, Pro-Cardex, (asset).
Open to junior to senior person depending on experience
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary from $25 to $33/hour depending on experience.
Schedule :
7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday
730am to 1130am Friday
Full-time (36h/week) in-person position
Office located in the heart of old Laprairie near several locations

Annual increase plan & Discretionary bonus based on performance
