🎯 90-day challenge: 10 years of recruitment experience in Quebec and what I’ve learned as an agency manager

Introduction

More than ten years ago, I founded Agence Carrières, a recruitment firm based in Quebec.
Over the past decade, I’ve learned that recruitment isn’t just about matching a CV with a job offer. Every hire is a human story. It’s a pivotal moment for the candidate, and often a turning point for the company.

Today, I’m launching a new project:
📅 a 90-day challenge, during which I’ll be sharing my learnings, tips and behind-the-scenes insights into being a recruiter and agency leader.


🔹 Why launch a 90-day recruitment challenge?

As a headhunter and executive, I see that many Quebec companies are experiencing the same challenges:

  • costly vacancies,
  • hard-to-reach passive candidates,
  • lengthy processes that scare off the best profiles.

My goal with this challenge is twofold:

  1. Offer practical recruitment advice to HR managers and business leaders.
  2. To show the reality of a profession that is often misunderstood: that of recruiter.

🔹 Three lessons from 10 years of recruitment in Quebec

1. An empty position costs more than a good recruitment

Every month of unoccupied shifts generates losses: lower productivity, overloaded teams, dissatisfied customers. A well-executed mandate can limit these impacts.

2. Top talent doesn’t apply

The majority of quality candidates are already in place. It’s up to the recruiter to approach them, convince them and build the relationship.

3. Recruitment is a partnership

This is not a transaction. It’s a relationship between the recruiter, the company and the candidate. Working hand in hand is the key to lasting results.
