Role Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Structural Civil Engineer serves as the technical reference for everything related to the design, analysis, and structural validation of our client’s products.
The engineer collaborates closely with mechanical, electrical, project management, production, and after-sales teams to ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of manufactured and installed equipment.

Main Mission
Participate in the design, validation, and implementation of structural solutions applied to temporary or permanent products.
The engineer ensures the strength, compliance, and optimization of structural components, while supporting internal teams when facing technical challenges in design or in the field.
Responsibilities
1. Structural Analysis & Design
• Perform structural analysis and calculations (linear or finite element) to validate strength and stability
• Design and approve structural components and welded assemblies in accordance with applicable codes (CSA, AISC, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with normative, regulatory, and contractual requirements
• Produce and validate calculations, drawings, design notes, technical documents, and engineering reports
2. Project & Installation Support
• Support project managers and site teams during installations
• Calculate and validate anchor loads, ground loads, and building connection points
• Propose structural solutions during site challenges or client adaptation requests
• Review and approve structural installation documents and specifications
3. Continuous Improvement & Product Development
• Participate in new product design and optimize existing structures
• Contribute to cost reduction through design rationalization and improved manufacturing processes
• Conduct technological watch and integrate new materials or calculation methods
• Maintain up-to-date design files, testing reports, validations, and approvals
4. Collaboration & Communication
• Ensure effective communication between engineering, production, and field teams
• Provide internal and external technical support on structural matters
• Participate in project meetings and multidisciplinary technical reviews
Desired Profile
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering (structural specialization)
• Member of a provincial engineering association (e.g., OIQ) with professional seal (or eligible)
Experience & Technical Skills
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis
• Strong knowledge of CSA standards and welding calculation codes
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, Robot, SAP2000, or equivalent)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
Professional Skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Rigorous, autonomous, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Bilingual (French/English)
• Availability for occasional site visits
Assets
• Knowledge of ASME A17.1 B44 and B311 standards
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
