Are you looking for a role filled with challenges where you can showcase your strengths in project management while overseeing the estimating function for large-scale residential construction projects?

Due to continued growth, our client—an established general contractor recognized for multi-residential construction projects—is seeking a Project Manager – Estimator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects across the Greater Montreal area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

(Project management is the primary focus)

1. Project Management – ⭐ Primary Responsibility

• Coordinate all phases of multi-residential construction projects.
• Prepare technical and administrative project documents.
• Work closely with site superintendents and field teams.
• Track schedules, construction sequences, and anticipate operational issues.
• Participate in budget tracking and manage project changes.
• Support site teams to ensure compliance, quality, and execution standards.

2. Estimating – 📐 Secondary Role (mainly supervision)

• Supervise a remote junior estimator responsible for:
– quantity takeoffs
– estimate preparation
– price compilation
– updating internal databases
• Review and validate quantities and estimates prepared by the junior.
• Analyze subcontractor bids and prepare comparison tables.
• Support negotiations on price, scope, and conditions.
• Assist in preparing preliminary project budgets.

3. Subcontractor Relations & Tendering 🤝

• Maintain strong professional relationships with subcontractors.
• Identify and onboard new subcontracting partners.
• Coordinate and follow up on invitations to tender.
• Review opportunities for upcoming projects (including SEAO listings).

REQUIRED PROFILE

Technical Skills

• 3 to 6 years of experience in construction, estimating, or project management (multi-residential is an asset).
• Solid understanding of construction site operations and building methods.
• Education in estimating, architectural technology, civil engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and estimating software (asset: Procore / Autodesk Build).
• Strong skills in Excel and the MS Office Suite.
• Understanding of applicable building codes and construction standards.

Soft Skills

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and structured work methodology.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate several stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership style suitable for supervising a junior estimator remotely.
• Clear communication, problem-solving mindset, and professional attitude.
• Strong French communication; functional English.
