🔹 Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of the Material Resources Division, the Vehicle Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repairs of the organization’s vehicle fleet and facilities. They also manage the inventory of specialized equipment and supplies.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance:

  • Diagnose issues related to specialized equipment and carry out repairs when possible

  • Communicate with suppliers to coordinate equipment upgrades

  • Schedule and follow up on annual inspections and regular maintenance

  • Coordinate vehicle transportation with commissionaires

  • Manage accident reports and insurance claims for damaged vehicles

  • Maintain up-to-date operational and administrative reports

  • Oversee the inventory of parts and report needs to the material resources team

  • Support the development of technical specs for new vehicle outfitting and liaise with contractors

  • First-level identification and troubleshooting for in-vehicle IT equipment

Other Responsibilities:

  • First-level support for portable radio issues

  • First-level troubleshooting for building-related maintenance

  • Coordinate with suppliers and supervise minor building maintenance work

  • Perform general clerical duties and assist the IT team as needed


🧠 Desired Profile

  • Diploma in electronics or electrical (asset)

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in automobile electronics or installation of specialized vehicle equipment (strong asset)

  • Strong autonomy, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset

  • Functional English (spoken and written)

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) (asset)


🎯 Employment Conditions

  • 🕓 Schedule: 32.5 hours/week

    • Monday to Thursday: Between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

    • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  • 📍 Location: On-site in Candiac

  • 💼 Status: Permanent, unionized position

  • 💰 Salary: From $36.90/h to $40.50/h (as per the collective agreement)
