About the Role:

Are you looking for a stimulating and flexible work environment where your accounting skills are valued? Our growing CPA firm located on the South Shore of Montreal is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to handle full-cycle bookkeeping for a variety of business clients.


Main Responsibilities:

Full-cycle bookkeeping for small and medium-sized businesses:

  • Entering accounting transactions (sales, purchases, bank, general journal)

  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Preparing monthly adjusting entries

  • Producing monthly financial statements

  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Preparing and filing GST/QST tax returns

  • Following up on collections and payments

Year-end and tax preparation:

  • Preparing year-end slips (T4, T5, Relevé forms)

  • Assisting in year-end financial statement preparation

  • Handling government remittances and source deductions (DAS)

Payroll (depending on client needs):

  • Processing payroll for various clients using different software

  • Issuing Records of Employment (ROEs) and annual summaries

Client interaction and support:

  • Communicating with clients for information and follow-ups

  • Providing basic guidance on bookkeeping best practices


Candidate Profile:

  • Diploma in accounting (DEP, AEC, or DEC)

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a CPA firm

  • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Acomba, etc.)

  • Strong skills in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent command of written and spoken French; English is an asset

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and autonomous with good communication skills
