POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant performs financial management of leases as well as bookkeeping associated with a pre-assigned real estate portfolio.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and approves the financial management of leases;
  • Approves or performs preliminary rent records, with all changes.
  • Manage and approve monthly rent billing and cash receipts;
  • Prepare retroactive rent adjustment invoices and forward to tenants. Sends notices of rent changes
  • Performs monthly analysis of budget and actual variances;-Prepares monthly accruals and adjusting entries;
  • Calculates and prepares final invoices and quarterly provisions for operating expenses relating to leases (13th invoices, taxes, energy, etc.). );
  • Ensure capital budget and project follow-up;
  • Participate in the preparation of forecasts and budgets in collaboration with the various departments;
  • Ensure compliance with internal control standards as per 52-109, and see to the application of the various procedures.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly management meetings and clearly explain all variances.
  • Participate in special projects to improve our work processes and tools;
  • Supervise or approve all work of an accounting technician and according to the regulations of 52- 109
  • Participate in the follow-up of overdue accounts receivable as well as their collection activities;
  • Approve or perform bank reconciliations
  • All other related tasks.

  • Essential: Accounting background
  • Essential: 5 years’ relevant experience
