Following strong growth, our client, a major real estate developer and general contractor renowned for its multi-unit residential construction projects, is looking for a SENIOR ESTIMATOR able to work mainly on the construction of multi-residential projects in the Greater Montreal area;

- Established for 20+ years with over 150 million multi-residential projects built in Montreal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify business opportunities in the general construction industry, mainly multi-residential within the public (SEAO, BSDQ) and private markets to increase our customer’s market share in order to reach the annual sales target agreed upon in the employment contract;
- Responsible for the evaluation and development of construction costs for projects;
- Responsible for the preparation, submission and follow-up of bids;
- Analyze bid results and propose adjustments to improve the company’s competitiveness.
- Examine plans, specifications and bids to estimate the cost of materials, labor and equipment;
- Carry out quantity surveys to prepare bids;
- Prepare specifications/bid forms following the study of plans and specifications to send out requests for bids to various parties;
- Compare and negotiate bids received from subcontractors;
- Research subcontractors in order to expand the database;
- Maintain directories of suppliers, subcontractors and other industry professionals;
- Establish and maintain the necessary communications with customers, subcontractors, suppliers and professionals;
- Implement and maintain bidding, control and reporting systems and procedures;
- Negotiate the purchase of construction materials for the group in coordination with the Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s);
- Negotiate changes and additions to contractual agreements with subcontractors and suppliers in coordination with the Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s);
Once the contract has been signed / project awarded, in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Participate in the development of the worksite completion strategy within the approved schedule;
- Participate in coordinating and managing worksite safety prevention;
PREREQUISITES :
- Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience in one or more construction estimating roles (multi-residential / commercial or institutional)
- DEC or AEC in estimating, engineering, architecture or other relevant experience
- Experience in multi-residential development (Asset)
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit, Autodesk Build, Procore, MS Project and estimating software
- Fluent spoken English and excellent French
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent knowledge of the Quebec Construction Code, laws, standards and other regulations applicable to the multi-residential construction industry in Quebec;
- Previous experience on multi-tender or public tender projects (Asset)
